Attorney Scott L. Summers, Esquire

Scott is a lawyer with over twenty-six years of significant and varied experience. 

Prior to opening the Summers Law Office, PLLC, Scott was a partner in one of the largest law firms in West Virginia. Scott’s litigation experience includes the representation of individuals and companies in a variety of claims involving catastrophic injury and death; workplace injuries; premises liability; mass litigation; toxic tort; products liability; blasting cases; motor vehicle accidents; trucking accidents; medical malpractice; property damage; estate litigation; contract claims and a variety of other tort and general liability claims.

In addition to his litigation work, Scott represents businesses and individuals in a variety of matters including business sales and acquisitions, employment matters, contract drafting and negotiations, divorce and adoption.

Scott has presented, briefed and argued several cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

Scott is also a trained and experienced mediator. He has received a “BV” rating through the prestigious Martindale Hubbell directory and has been recognized by Chambers USA in the area of natural resources law. Scott is well versed in the use of technology. He has given numerous seminars to members of the West Virginia Bar as well as insurance carriers concerning the persuasive and cost effective use of technology at trial. 

Scott is a 1995 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law and is admitted to practice in all West Virginia State Courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia. He served as a combat engineer in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1983 through 1989. The discipline, focus, work ethic and leadership skills learned in the Marine Corps have served Scott well as a lawyer.
